The BMAT Course Philosophy
|
|
The BMAT Course is an intensive BMAT preparation day conducted by doctors with in excess of five years BMAT teaching experience. The course covers all three sections of the BMAT examination, focussing on providing experienced insight, time saving strategies and invaluable resources.
BMAT: Section 1
Section 1 of the BMAT examination is arguably the most practicable section, and often the least practiced. With 60 minutes and 35 questions, there is a greater emphasis on accuracy than there is a requirement for speed. In addressing critical thinking questions, candidates are introduced to our trusted four step approach, whilst accuracy tips and common pitfalls are focused on for problem solving and data handling questions. With practice being of the utmost importance, a range of questions are worked through together as a group, as well as providing attendees with mock examinations, past paper explanations and an abundance of additional resources for candidates to practice in their own time.
BMAT: Section 2
With only 30 minutes and 27 tough questions to complete, efficient question prioritisation and timesaving techniques are essential in Section 2. In addition to covering these invaluable tips, we address common areas of deficiencies such as the manipulation of physics equations, applying biological systems as well as balancing challenging equations amongst other topics. With the course focussing on the common challenges faced by students, detailed notes for additional topics are embedded within our mock examinations and past paper explanations, enabling candidates to practice and learn concurrently.
BMAT: Section 3
Section 3 is polarising with some candidates relishing this section whilst others are less enthused. Despite this dichotomy, almost all students are aware of the need to address all parts of the question, provide opposing views as well as coming to a reasoned conclusion and as such these basic approaches are no longer sufficient to secure the very best marks. Over the last few years, our experienced team of doctors have developed a novel approach to supplement the widely used framework which has enabled many of our students to score the very best marks. Furthermore, with a range of section 3 complete answer plans provided to all attendees, students leave with a firm foundation upon which they can thrive.
